Throughout his 27-year career in commercial real estate, Mark Allen Hanrahan has closed more than $10 billion in office, industrial, retail, and multifamily transactions while serving in director roles with Principal Real Estate Investors and Markmel Co. A passionate sports fan, Mark Allen Hanrahan counts the Chicago Cubs as his favorite Major League Baseball (MLB) team.

Looking to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, the Cubs acquire talented, left-handed pitcher Cole Hamels from the Texas Rangers on July 27 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Eddie Butler and minor league pitching prospect Rollie Lacy. The Cubs were previously involved in discussions to acquire the Toronto Blue Jays’ left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ, but he was instead dealt to the New York Yankees.

A 34-year-old native of San Diego, California, Hamels is a four-time All-Star and 2008 World Series MVP. He spent the first nine-and-a-half years of his 13-year career with the Phillies before joining the Rangers in 2015. While he boasted a mediocre 4.72 earned run average (ERA) through 20 starts with the Rangers, he has been dominant in two starts with the Cubs, as he boasts a 1.00 ERA and has allowed only 11 hits through 18 innings.

The recipient of an MBA from Drake University, Mark Allen Hanrahan is a commercial real estate and venture capital executive who has served as managing partner of Markmel Co., LLC, since 2009. Aside from his professional pursuits, Mark Allen Hanrahan is a passionate fan of the National Football League’s (NFL) Chicago Bears.

Linebacker Roquan Smith, selected eighth overall by the Bears in the 2018 NFL Draft, put to rest any doubt that he might miss his rookie season on August 14, as he ended his contract holdout and signed a four-year contract worth a guaranteed $18 million with the potential for $11 million in bonuses. Smith was the last 2018 first-round pick to sign a contract with his respective team. According to ESPN, one of the reasons for the delay involved terms in the contract that would have allowed the Bears to reclaim guaranteed money if Smith was punished under the league’s new helmet-contact rule.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker played the past three seasons for the University of Georgia and accumulated 252 tackles, 6.5 quarterback sacks, and three forced fumbles through 38 games. He was also named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Mark Allen Hanrahan, a real estate investment professional based in Iowa, serves as managing partner at Markmel Co. LLC. In this position, Mark Allen Hanrahan oversees acquisitions, dispositions, and joint venture formation related to commercial real estate transactions. Aside from his professional responsibilities, Mr. Hanrahan supports a variety of charitable organizations, including Bethany Christian Services.

Bethany Christian Services, located in 36 states, aims to strengthen families across the globe by providing adoption services, pregnancy support, and counseling. In addition, the organization offers services to refugees and immigrants.

In situations that involve violence, turmoil, and natural disaster, many families become separated before reaching refugee camps near their home countries. When children arrive in camps without their parents or family members, they are considered orphans or unaccompanied minors and may be resettled in other countries. When these young refugees arrive in the United States, they are in need of welcoming homes where they can heal and begin new lives in a new country.

Bethany Christian Services’ refugee and immigrant foster care programs gives these children an opportunity to start again in the context of a family. Within a safe environment, vulnerable children have access to counseling as well as the education that will equip them to live a life of independence.

Families in Bethany’s refugee and immigrant foster care program are provided with the training they need to parent a child from a different culture. They are also paired with mentors and provided with medical insurance and a stipend to offset the costs of an additional family member.

Bethany Christian Services offers additional services to refugees and immigrants that include assistance with resettlement and employment as well as counseling.
